THE SWINGING CAT SMALL BAR SYDNEY CBD
We got in around 6pm – it was still light and you could see the passing feet of the bustling city through their high level sky lights. The bar is comfortable padded couches, lounges and intimately lit. You can just spot the hanging umbrella in the the top shot and its there internationally. Its a good looking small bar. Very schmick.

There’s lots of gin joint, whisky, craftbeer and then there’s The Swinging Cat – a Sazarac joint that celebrate the drink. The Cocktail Menu like the venue puts the New Orleans twist and southerns up their drinks list with Creole Mary’s and a Hurricane.
Say hello to Pete when you pop in.
(L) A Cherry bombadier it’s a richly velvety boozer. (R) A Hurricane – we’ll remember this name as this is one of their signature cocktails. A very large and delicious icy fruity punch with light and dark rums. Why hurrincane? Look at that upended tiki umbrella.
(L) Treme coconut and cranberry cobbler – sloegin, cranberry and coco liquer – A very creamily fragrant and delicious drink and a Creole Marys – A smokey Cajun twist on the Bloody Mary served tall.
Bar Menu – A New Orleans Grilled Cheese 8 minutes on the grill with wagyu beef and a hot cajun spice mix. And pickles. Really good with a nice hit of chilli in there.
Speak Easy, New Orleans, Hospitality, Mardi Gras, Good times. All good things and what we believe you’ll find once you make your way down to the rather hidden The Swinging Cat. This is going to be huge. There’s plenty to like here from the Table Service to the ambience and of course, quintessential to any small bar experience character and great drinks. Swing Cat Swing.
